My Besties Aussie Challenge - Flowers, Ribbon & Lace

Hi everyone :)  Waving at ya :)

Wow, what a week!  Or has it been just a few days since my last post? lol  I seriously cannot remember. All the days & nights seem to be blending into one long era lol.  I am absolutely loving it though & wouldn't want to change anything with what is happening at the moment :)

Before I talk about absolutely anything, I want to give you a heart-felt thank you for coming over to pay me a visit.  I really appreciate you coming back.  Also, I have quite a few new followers this week.  Welcome & it's great to see you all here. Thank you massively from the bottom of my heart.  It's really nice to know that I'm not 'talking' to myself lol.

Well, to be honest, I don't have a clue where to start lol.

As you know the DT Call ended just a few days ago & not being the easiest thing to do I managed to select my Design Team for the up-coming Dreamtime Designs Craft Challenge (which we have all managed to abbreviate to DDCC lol).  I decided on 10 DT Members & we have all been getting acquainted with each other in our newly formed Facebook group.

It has been totally buzzing in there with total excitement & getting to know one another that I think we might all be doing a lot of sleeping this weekend.  Yeah right! lol  I very much doubt it :)  There is too much happening to want to sleep much lol.

Anyway, I will be letting you know more tomorrow about the DT members.  I can't wait to introduce you to them & I am sure they are looking forward to meeting all of you who decide to participate in our challenges :)  I can tell you this though, they all believe in visiting your blogs & leaving genuine comments about your challenge entries not just the general 'nice card' comment.  They are all in unison with wanting to give special attention to each & every one of your creations.  So if you want special attention like you deserve then you are definately in the right place :)

With that being said, I have made a DDCC badge just for you :)

Please feel free to take the badge & put it on your blog if you like :)
Don't forget to link it back to here.  We want you to remember where we are lol.

It is all so very exciting right now & I am looking forward to sharing more with you...however...

I have a new design for the My Besties Aussie Challenge that I would like to share with you :)

The challenge is flowers, ribbon & lace.

I would love for you to try the challenge out yourselves.
You can WIN some beautiful My-Besties to add to your collection :)

I decided on this cute little image :)

You can purchase it here :)

This is what the cute image looks like after I coloured it with my wonderful Copics.

I have to admit that I had a hard time getting the shading right...even now I'm not completely over the moon about it lol.  However, I am happy with the over-all finished product which you will get to see in just a moment :)

I used the following Copic colours:

Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E40, 41, 43, 47
Dragon: R81, 85, RV10, 34, V000, 01, 12
Bows & Outfit: G07, 28, 82, 85, 94, YR20, 31
Background: B000, 00, W0, 01, 03, Blender

Want to pin the Copic colour combo?

I had every intention of making the back layer DP more visible but the more I got stuck into designing the more it got lost lol.  It is gorgeous paper & one that I have had for a long time but unfortunately it hasn't got the information on the back that would tell me which brand it is.  So, I still have no idea apart from loving the paper design & still having more sheets left lol.  It will probably be another 5 yrs before I get to use it again lol.  Oh well, many more DP's where that came from :)

This gorgeous handmade flower was actually given to me as a gift from someone I met on Facebook. It is a lovely colour & compliments my design beautifully. Thanls Lynn :)  I added a green flower underneath & also some Prima leaves which have been in my stash forever. I've got many of them left too lol.

The Everyday Mini Postage Stamp sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I thought it fit the image perfectly :)

The ribbon with the gold spots was only a short length & when I found it in my ribbon drawer I was holding my breath hoping it would be long enough. Would you believe there was just enough to fit perfectly where I needed it. Phew lol.

Do you like the ribbon with the cute flowers hanging off of it? I couldn't believe my luck that the flowers looked quite the same as the one that the dragon is holding. Brilliant!

The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon & the button I bought off Etsy (of course there are many more in the packet lol ).   There's another one of those little heart charms again that I have so many of lol.  I always put heart into my designs lol.  Ohhh dearrr lol.  I've been out in the sun all day...I think it's gone to my head lol.

I did actually follow this sketch at CLP Challenges but unfortunately due to not being able to post this design to my blog till the actual Bestie challenge was taking place, I missed the entry due date. I did however enjoy following the sketch :)

Here are my Bestie friends in their full glory :)

Lots of other items I used were ink to distress the paper edges, a few other flowers here & there but I simply could not walk away from it till I had added some pearls lol. I simply have this problem of having to add pearls to nearly all of my designs lol.  I just love the finished look that they give, don't you?

I had a great time creating this design. I must admit that my colouring was pushed to it's limit but I love how it all turned out :)  It was a lot of fun & the Besties are simply gorgeous :)

Another absolutely gorgeous creation that does total justice to the beasties Lisa, your work is always so bright and colourful but I just love how I spend so much time trying to figure out where to actually look first! Every inch of your project has something to catch the eye, but then your fab colouring (you really should be happy with the shading, it's a great job!) brings the eye back to really focus on the main image, I love when small ribbons fits exactly! It was deffo meant to live there :)

What a fun project. Have to agree that the little flowers on that ribbon must have been designed to go with that image! Don't happy accidents like that just make you giggle with excitement? They sure do me!

This is stunning Lisa. You really shouldn't be worried about the shading, it all looks great. Your cards are always so colourful, but never an in your face colourful, they still somehow, in amongst all the colour manage to stay looking soft and delicate. Beautiful choices for all your papers and embellishments. I'm like Emmey, I never know where to look first and each time I look I see something else. Great job. P.s. How have you done the background behind the dino and bestie? (the pale blue bit with white)I can't quite see any close enough, is it coloured or stamped etc (or a mixture)or are they on another wonderful piece of gorgeous paper? xx
