You're The Best Picture Frame

Hi everyone :)
It has been a very interesting and busy week.
We are looking to move & hope to do so in the next few weeks so I have been busy checking places out to look for our new home.  Wish me luck :)

Before I continue, I just want to remind you of the new blog candy I have for you.  Be in the chance to WIN this gorgeous Magnolia Tilda with Big Ribbon Mini stamp :)  You can enter & find out all about it here.
Good luck with it :)

------------------------

I am running late with this weeks posting for Delightful Challenges, so I had better get on with it lol.

This week we are challenging you to create a design that is
'Valentines Anything but a Card'.
This week our wonderful sponsor is:  Whiff of Joy.

We would love for you to join us so be sure to pop over to Delightful Challenges to check out all the info :)

For this challenge I had Daisy helping me out :)
You can find her here.

Also Dylan decided he wanted to play too :)  You can find him here.

I simply had to have Daisy & Dylan sitting together on the bench so I used the wonderful Daisy Accessories Set which you can also find here.

I think the 'You're The Best' Sentiment was a perfect touch :)  You can find it here.

I decided to design a picture frame for this challenge as I had a few at home that was bought for this purpose. However, I sanded it down & painted it white.  I then added some pearls to it.  I love the effect it gives & totally looks like a brand new picture frame totally different from its original look :)

My Tip:  Purchase some old photo frames at your local Thrift / Second hand shop, you will be amazed how many you can find.  Take them home, clean them up, sand them down & paint them in accordance to the colour you would prefer.  Simply adhere your design onto the frame backing.  Use a staple gun to add some ribbon on the back & voila you have a new picture to hang on your wall :)

I used my new Doo Hickey, MS Branch punch & added Liquid pearls to the old button that I found in my stash :)  The beads & cardstock are from my old stash too :)

I added Glossy Accents to their shoes & also to the back of the bench.  I don't think you can see it too clearly but it really 'lifted' the park bench & added to the dimension of the image. Quite happy :)

I also used a heart charm but unfortunately when I took the photo I didn't notice that it wasn't facing forward.  I guess I was in a hurry to get this design on my blog lol.

Oh I nearly forgot to tell you that the DP's are actually digital papers which were a free download but for the life of me I can't remember where I got them from.  However, I will check it out & update this post with the correct details & the link so that you can go and get it if you like.  This is the first time that I have used digital papers & I was quite impressed with how they turned out :)

I also used the lace & ribbon which are from my 'oldie stash' lol.  I'm doing pretty good with including all the old stuff that have been sitting there doing nothing for months..some of it years lol.

As you have probably figured out by now, I took the glass frame insert out.  I didn't want to be limited with the dimension of the design.  However I am extremely happy with it & the way it turned out :)

Best Friends

Hello again :)
How's your week going?  Mine has been pretty good actually.  I haven't done much more other than craftin' but wow, I never really knew that playing with my stamps & my wonderful supplies that it could be such great therapy :)  So I have had a great few days with just having 'me' time :)
 I love it :)

Before I continue, I just want to remind you of the new blog candy I have for you.  Be in the chance to WIN this gorgeous Magnolia Tilda with Big Ribbon Mini stamp :)  You can enter & find out all about it here.
Good luck with it :)

This is Penny with her Teddy.  Isn't she sooo cute?
You can get her from Digital Delights by Louby Lou here.

Penny has helped me to create my new design for my 2nd week at Delightful Challenges & this time the challenge is to create a design with a 'Distressed / Vintage' look.

The great thing is we have a fantastic sponsor this week:

Magnolia-licious is offering Sherwood Edwin & Tilda with Apple Mini Stamps to the winner, so go have some 'me time' at your craft table & get your Distressed/Vintage look entry into our Delightful Challenge here.
Best of luck to you :)

Wow, now this was definately a challenge for me as I have never created anything vintage before lol.  Here is my design.  I hope you like it.

Penny with her Teddy is one of the Digital Delights images that I have used.
I had lots of fun colouring her in with my copics.

I had lots of fun using my new toys.  The Magnolia Doo Hickey & 2 new Spellbinder Nestabilities.  How I mangaged before without some of my new tools is amazing.

I also used the Ticket Sentiment Set from Digital Delights.
The buttons, the DP & cardstock is from my reallllly old stash, so I am glad that I was able to use some of my scraps.  I'm trying really hard to use all those items that have been in my stash for quite sometime.  The DP is K & Company.

I used rope pearls around Penny to help 'pop' her out.
Liquid Pearls is another supply that is new & I just LURVVV the effect that they give.  Gotta get me some more but in different colours :)  Can you recommend any?

I have also added WOC flowers.
More are currently on order & SOOO can't wait to get my parcel :)

The circle lace I picked up from a thrift shop, so that definately came in handy lol.  The stars have been popped up to add dimension.  I was going to use Stickles on them but I thought it would lose the 'vintage look' if I did that.

I also decorated the inside of the card to make it pretty :)

Definately quite a bit of dimension happening lol.
In the image below you can just see that I have used Glossy Accents on Penny's shoes :)  I lurrvvv this stuff too lol.  Have you tried it?   You should :)

I had a fantastic time with this challenge, it realllly helped me step out of the square.  Thanks Wendy :)

You're All That I Want Card

Hi everyone :)
Thank you so much for stopping by.  I appreciate it.

Wow, sooo much has happened in this last 7 days!  Firstly my partner & I broke up, which I was initially unhappy about after catching him with another woman but now I believe that he did me the greatest favour cos' he really wasn't the best thing for me.  So I'm ok :)

Yesterday, my best friend rang me & informed me that her Daughter was in labour & could I come over & give her some support she asked.  Within a few hours I was there & within half an hour I was there with her Daughter helping to deliver her baby on the bathroom floor!!  Yep...she didn't quite make it to the hospital lol.  Mother & baby boy are absolutely fantastic but WOW what an experience to say the least!!  It was being there at the birth that REALLY made me realise that there are SOOO many other things that are sooo beautiful & sooo much more important in life that its just not worth worrying over the small things that drag you down.  So I say embrace, enjoy & smile :)

My Daughter, Zoe (12yrs) ended up in hospital today due to her Diabetes.  She was staying with her Father & Step Witch (lol) for a week & when Zoe rang me to let me know that the witch had gone out & left her at home by herself for 2 hours her blood sugar levels were very high & she had Keytones (not good).  Needless to say I arranged to get her to the hospital & met her there.  We have been sitting in Emergency for hours on end but now Zoe is alot better, her levels under control, Keytones gone & she is safely home with me.

Its amazing how life can throw sooo many curve balls all in one hit lol.  However, I got through it & I'm determined to keep that smile on my face lol.
How was your week? :)

Anyway, sorry but I had to get all that off my chest.  So lets move on shall we lol.

I am really excited to share with you my first design which promotes the newest release of digital images at Digital Delights by Louby Lou.  I am enjoying being part of the Design Team & absolutely adore using Wendy's wonderful images.  This new set is designed around the 50's & reminds me alot of Grease :)  I have used Rockaround Sue on my design. I hope you like it.

The car is from the 50's Drive In Set.  I managed to be able to get her sitting on the car lol.  I think they both go well together don't you? lol

I have used a few of my new toys.  The Magnolia Doohickey, MS Branch punch & also the MS Lace punch.  Oooh, I can see that I will be using these a fair bit lol.  The DP is Bo-Bunny from my old stash & of course I have used Copics for colouring the image.

My Tip:  Have you found that when using Copics that they can sometimes loose ink & get all over your fingers & the pens themselves leaving them looking messy?  Try using the little medical alcohol wipes.  Not only will they get the ink off your fingers but it will clean the Copics too.

I have used WOC flowers & the ribbon is from my stash too.

The sentiment is from the 50's Sentiment Set.  I have also used pearls, stickles & a ribbon buckle.

Be sure to take a look at the fantastic new images at Digital Delights.
I am sure you will just love them :)

(This design is available at my Dreamtime Designs Etsy Store).

We would love for you to join our current challenge this week at Delightful Challenges which is to create a design using pink, black & silver.  Come on & have a go :)  Not only will you have fun but you may even win a $20 store gift card from our wonderful sponsor..

Good luck & happy crafting :)

Happy Holidays - Scrapbook Layout / Card Topper

Hi all :)
I trust you have all had a beautiful Christmas & a wonderful New Year?
We had all the children over with their partners, so therefore the house was pretty chockers with people lol.

My Daughter Zoe was pretty chuffed with her presents this year as I got her the laptop that she was hanging out for plus a new desk & chair for her bedroom.  I figured it will help since she starts high school in just a few weeks.

Before I show you my new design, I just want to remind you of the blog candy that is on offer for you.

Simply click here & enter for the blog candy...Jam Tilda Stamp.
You had better hurry though as Mr Linky closes very soon.
Good luck :)

Some of you who are regular visitors to my blog will notice that this design is of the same image that I have used before.  All of my designs are created to sell in my Etsy shop, therefore I create different items.  This one isn't a card.  It is a scrapbook topper that can be used on a layout as a header or title.  It can also be used as a card topper.

I decided to treat myself for Christmas & ordered quite alot of supplies at all my favourite online shops.  The majority of the orders I haven't got yet (prob due to the Christmas postal hold-ups) but I did receive one of them.  I used my new MS Artic Snowflake punch & the EK Success Decorative Corner punch.  I absolutely love them :)

The swirl die cut I got about a month ago.

The white pearl brads look quite effective I think.

My tip for attaching pearl brads is to cut & snip the metal prongs off the brad before attaching it to your design.  Some people wouldn't agree with this but I find that they glue & attach better to other materials like ribbons etc.

I love the dimension that the pearls give to the design.

This design is available at my Dreamtime Designs Etsy store.

I would like to enter my Happy Holidays design into the following challenges :)
