If The Broom Fits...Fly It! Wall Decor Canvas

Hi everyone,
I want to give a nice warm welcome to all my new followers & also to all of you that come back & see me all the time :)

A little inside info for you :)  My Daughter Zoe's friend was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes the other day.  She is the same age (13) as Zoe & they have been friends for a while now.  Poor Lilla.  Apparently she is coping very well & adapting nicely, however I'm wondering about my little Zo.

Zoe has had the disease since she was just 3 yrs old, has been on two diabetes group camps & I have always been proud to see her treat the diabetes as a 'friend' rather than an 'enemy' all these years.  However, since Zoe got the call from Lilla to tell her the news, she has been literally all over the place where her emotions are concerned.  One minute she is sad, maybe even angry that Lilla has Diabetes, but the next minute she is overflowing with excitement.

As I have explained to Zo (due to her having been confused with her emotions) that she of all people knows that having Diabetes isn't good & it's only natural for her heart to go out to Lilla, but on the other hand she now has someone that she is very close to that has the same disease as herself.

I personally think that Zoe is relieved that she now feels more 'normal' & can finally bond in a way with Lilla that she hasn't been able to with anyone else.  Myself included.  Surely it must be a very overwhelming feeling of not 'being alone & the only one'?  Have you had this sort of feeling?  Is there anything else I can say to her that will help her feel more relaxed with her feelings, thoughts & emotions?  I'm sure it will all settle down soon :)

Well, on to something more creative :) lol

I have only just a few days ago found the gorgeous girly digis called 'Big Eyed Besties' by Sherri Baldy. I personally think they have a lot of character & you will definately be seeing me designing with these cuties again :)

I had a great time colouring her in.

I used the following Copic colours:

Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E40, 41, 43, 47
Dress: R81, 85, RV34, C1, 3, 5
Bow: R81, RV000, 34, 95
Hat: C1, 3, 5, 100
Broom: E11, 21, 33, 35, 37, 50, 51, 53,

Want to pin the Copic colour combo?

The digi sentiment is called Autumn Tickets from Paper Cupcakes which I won in a challenge quite a while ago :)  It was good to finally use the clock charm which I have had for some time now too.

I mounted the design onto an 8 x 8 inch canvas which I also distressed.  The pin is made from my bead stash which too has been sitting there waiting to be used :)  I used the black lace then adhered two different ribbons on top.  The brads are pretty much the same colour as her dress which worked out well :)

What do you think of my new easel stand?
A friend of mine made it for me after I bought all the supplies for it.  I am hoping he can show me during the week how to make them as I would like to add them to my Etsy shop for purchase.

I am thinking of painting them white & keeping some of them with their natural look.  What do you think?

I totally enjoyed creating this design.  It all seemed to come together very nicely without any hiccups or bumps along the way :)

Such a stunning creation! Absolutely envious too! Lol it's gorgeous! I love the colours and the way everything comes together so perfectly!

I don't have any experienced with children, other than being one myself once, I'd imagine she will find great comfort in having a buddy to share her issues with knowing exactly how the other is feelings, I'm sure they will both manage their conditions with the support of each other

Also love the stands! Very much like the natural colour! I need some of these :)

Hi Lisa, how sad that another child has been diagnosed with diabetes, there seems to be so many new cases, why????? I'm sure it will be a comfort to your daughter to have a friend so close to talk to and share how she feels as I'm sure it will help her friend come to terms with it too. Each child is different and I'm sure you will have already done your very best to care and prepare your daughter, just being there when they need you is the best support. My daughter still has down days and she's 20 and is going through a really rough time at the mo, but we take one day at a time.
Your card is fab, those images are so sweet and the colours and layout is wonderful.
Hugs Sue W.

Wow stunning canvas, I love the colors that you used and all the little details you have added. It sure makes your creation pop. Love it.
I'm sure you have explained things very well to your daughter, so now she has to let everything sink in about whats happening. I have an 18 year old and there are always new emotional things that pop up in their lives. The best thing you can give her is to always let her know that you are there for her no matter what. She will be fine, and knowing your there for her is the best tool you can give her.XX
Thank you for entering your creation with us at Whimsy for our ribbon and lace challenge. Hugs Charlene

What an amazing canvas - your works are just so pretty, only stopped by to leave you a message, but have now been here ages scrolling up and down. I'll be back for sure and am now following. Thanks for the heads up on the DT, I'm kinda interested, but I know I have a busy few months ahead, so best put new DT plans on hold - for now! Jx
