This design made it into the Top 3 over at Pile It On Challenges :)
Thank you to the design team :)
Hi everyone :)
How are we all today? Are you looking forward to the weekend? What have you got planned?
My Daughter, Zoe, is home from school today as she has got a cold. She is ok but I just like to keep her home as her diabetes sugar levels seem to play up when she is feeling poorly. However, she can't be feeling too bad cos' she has cleaned up her bedroom & is now going from room to room picking up & putting away things as she goes lol. Now she is making me cheese on toast lol. Hmmm, I think something is happening that I don't know about lol.
I finished my design last night but obviously had to wait till daylight to take photo's of it :) After editing them, I seriously want to get a new camera. After going to see other people's wonderful creations on their blogs, the quality of their photo's are heaps better than mine. So today, I am going to do some camera research online. I am hoping to get a new one by next weekend :)
Like I mentioned the other day, this is my first attempt at colouring an image in sepia colours. It was very different & I kept being tempted to add a different colour. I am quite happy with it but definately need some practice :)
I used the following Copic colours:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Everything else: E43, 50, 53, 57
Want to pin the Copic colour combo?
It took me quite a while picking out the DP's for this design & it left me quite frustrated that so much time had gone by lol. So I have written down on my wish list that I want more DP's that would go lovely with vintage / shabby chic / sepia / black & white themes.
Lots of pearls on this design. I even added some liquid pearls to some of the flowers :) I love the effect they give :) I was also able to try a few different techniques too, like inking around the edges of the image & also distressing the papers. I was really worried about ripping the papers but it didn't happen thank goodness lol.
I was also able to use some of my scraps which has helped me get the pile down a little bit :) I think the lace has helped 'soften' the design too. I love working with lace.
I decorated the inside & on both sides this time.
I really enjoyed putting this design together & I'm looking forward to making another like this one.
