Bride Tilda

It is Winter here in Australia.  I don't believe that I have ever felt it sooo cold in this gorgeous country.  I didn't think I would be as cold as I am due to how I stayed in the UK last year for six months.  Now THAT was cold lol.  Minus 10 degree's with snow on the ground.  Nothing like here.  I think the coldest it has got is -1 but that's about it.  No snow, thank goodness, but it is still very cold lol.

So just to keep me in the 'warm' frame of mind, Tilda decided that she was going to have a Summer Wedding :)  Isn't she gorgeous?
I needed cheering up :) lol

Actually, to give you a little bit of insight, I have been feeling quite down over the last few months (got a few things happening) & not having much motivation to do alot to say the least.  Has any of you played Castleville on FB?  Well, I have...& I sat there & played it religiously for about 6 weeks lol.  I ended up with 160 neighbours & created my Kingdom like no other lol.
It was a sorry sight lol.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, when I couldn't sleep (which has been happening alot) I had an 'AHaa' moment at about 4 o'clock in the morning lol.  I rattled my idea through my head, in bed for about an hour till I couldn't take it anymore, so I got out of bed, went into my craft studio (with coffee), got a pencil & notebook out & started to put my plan into action.  After doing some research on the net it took a few hours for me to put the Ahaa moment into perspective & to work out a few design barriers that got in my way, but in the end I figured it out :)

For a while now I have thinking about how to create something unique, a new idea in which I could still create my cards but yet make them more personal.  I wanted to create a design that could be used on a personal level or could still be given to someone else as a gift.  I wanted to create something that could be seen everyday, something that was decorational & also be a form of memorabilia.

After doing my research on the net, I then started looking at my supplies.  What did I need to pull this off?

I found my un-used Bride Tilda stamp & she furthered my inspiration.
A Wedding design!

So with the theme in mind, I set forth & sorted through my stash of papers to find the 'right' ones :)  What else did I need?  Flowers, ribbons, ...oh, but wait...I had to colour Tilda in first lol.

Well, this stumped me cos' I knew she HAD to be dressed in white...& I have NEVER coloured white before with my Copics!  Oh dear, oh dear!  What if I can't pull this off?  What about my NEW Ahhaa design idea?  Say if my 'white' colouring totally wrecks my whole design?!!  Aaargh!

Talk about being scared of Copics lol  Stupid I know...but after doing MORE research but this time hunting down 'how to colour white tutorials' I finally had the courage to put Copics to paper.

She didn't turn out too bad hey?
I'm quite happy but obviously got alot more to learn :)

Over the next few days I went out hunting for other items that I needed but this time they weren't 'paper craft' related.  It was good though, it got me out of the house all day but the only trouble was..yes you got it..I ended up spending wayyy much more money than I totally intended to lol.  However, let me say this, the next design I create...well lets put it this way...I have allll the supplies I need lol.  "Always look on the bright side of life" lol.

I didn't really have a design 'sketch' to go by but with moving around some of the items every few minutes, it all seemed to start coming together.  I was sooo excited to see my plan come to fruition :)

I found myself not just using supplies that I haven't even touched before but other little treasures that I have had hiding away just waiting for that special design that would be home.  Like this charm for instance.  I think I have had it for a few years now lol but it definately found it's little way to where it should be.  It looks pretty cute with this design, don't you think?

Eventually it all came together :)
But wait...I still have to decorate the inside of the card ...

This is how it turned out :)
It's a bit 'flat' but I needed for the card to be able to close properly.

However, there is plenty of dimension on the front of the card to make up for it :)  Besides, I'm nearly finished.  Add a ribbon & my 'Ahaa moment idea was nearly complete.

My original plan was this:
An occassion + make it personal + decorative = card & gift all in one =
Dreamtime Designs Wedding Card Canvas Wall Hanging!

What do you think?  (The picture is a bit dark etc, sorry about that)
I am extremely happy with the way the design turned out & quite proud of it lol.  I can't wait to start the next one :)
